The Stadiums
Austria and Switzerland will be the host countries of Euro 2008. The UEFA European Football Championship will take place between the 7th and the 29th of June 2008. Austria and Switzerland will the second pair of countries to host the famous football competition, after Belgium and the Netherlands had hosted it in 2000.
Austria and Switzerland will host Euro 2008’s matches offering eight stadiums.
The Austrian stadiums on which the matches of the 2008 EUFA European Football Championship will take place are: Tivoli-Neu Stadion from Innsbruck, Worthersee Stadion from Klagenfurt, Wals Siezenheim Stadium from Salzburg and Ernst Happel Stadion from Vienna.
The Swiss stadiums offered by Switzerland for the Euro 2008’s matches are: St. Jakob-Park from Basel, Stade de Suisse, Wankdorf, from Berne, Stade de Geneve from Geneva and Zurich’s Letzigrund Stadion.
The St. Jakob-Park stadium from Basel and Ernst Happel Stadion from Vienna will the most important “stages” of Euro 2008, as on them the most important seven matches of the Championship will take place.
On the 29th of June 2008, on Ernst Happel Stadion from Vienna there will take place the Final of the Championship.
